Verengi flew to a low branch, bored of hanging out at the waterfall or scouting the territory. What was the big threat? If there was one, wouldn't Sheba be recruiting soldiers or training everyone harder? Bored, she called out the names of creatures she remembered. "Sheba! Mau! Ranulf! Murte? Haloo-oo!" Verengi sat and wondered if a reply would come. Wait a second, is Murte that odd Ice person-thingymargiger? Ah well, if I forgot, I forgot.

Ranulf was visiting his allies at Garras Do Gato. They were talking about a plan to search for Flamina, a missing messenger of Cheetah Haute and Pryce's friend. Ranulf said to them, "Okay, we can have some of spies search the Ice Realm and if Flamina's there, then we can send in a small number of soldiers to rescue her." Then Ranulf heard someone calling him and he said to his allies, "I'll be right back. Sounds like someone's calling me." The starboard man went to find Verengi and said, "Hello, can I help you?"

The wet pine needles crushed under Muerte's huge black paws, making a sort of a SQILCH! sound. The scent of the pine around her tickled her nose, but through all the tangy scents came the scent of Redwood. Muerte stopped. She must be close to the Garras Do Gato's camp. Hey, didn't that mean she was in the Fire's territory? Oh yeah, the wolf remembered she had intended on coming here.

Just then, she heard a voice calling her name. All at once, she recognized the voice belonged to Verengi, a friend she had met at the waterfall. "Verengi!" The wolf howled as she tore through the underbrush, toward the voice of her friend. As she ran, she turned into Amor, her human form, and raced through the pines. After a few minutes, she came to, as she suspected, a large Redwood tree.

So, Amor traveled over to the tree, and looked up. About two-hundred feet up, almost at the top of the tree, was a huge, gaping hole. Amor gulped, and she reached for the lowest branch. Did I mention she was afraid of heights? Well, she is, and she was about to CLIMB a Redwood tree!

When Amor finally got to the top, she found Verengi and Ranulf, and she raced over to them, calling their names. "Hi guys!" She said, skidding to a halt and kicking up moss.

"Hi Everybody!" Verengi said, happy that two of her friends were here. "I was just bored... Um, sorry if I interrupted anyone." Verengi said, jumping to avoid a shower of moss. "So how's everyone doing?" She, being odd and not liking her human form, started to set her ruffled feathers back in place, daintily picking up a little scrap of moss from her left wing and pretending to be disgusted with it.
